A recent bill oprovides that as of January 1st 2023, the minimum social wage will be increased by 3.2 %.
This means that the new monthly minimum statutory wage for non-qualified employees will be 2.387,40 € gross (13.8000 € per hour) and the monthly minimum statutory wage for qualified employees will be 2.864,88 € gross (16.5600 € per hour).
Wages above the minimum statutory wage will however not be increased (as there is no general indexation).
This will also impact other amounts, such as the social security ceiling, the long-term care insurance abatement or the tax exemption for settlement indemnities.
In accordance with the law of 29 June 2022, these amounts will be indexed in 2023, once in the first quarter and again in April 2023. A third indexation in the second half of the year is also possible.
